Simplifying Your Life

JAI GANESHA!

“Dukha, the bad stuff, happens to everyone. We must stop feeding our stress phobia thinking we are trying to eradicate the bad stuff. The real obstacle to spiritual practice is thinking that to be happy we must be stress-free. Obstacles are not the problem. Life is full of setbacks, traffic jams, heart breaks and road blocks. It is our reaction and hostaging of energy that is the real block to our happiness. Learning how to stress successfully is the answer to staying zen.”

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha

#‎Mantra‬ Defined: In the mythic storytelling of ‪#‎Ganesha‬, the well loved deity to whom we chant to help us remain friendly with our obstacles.

Where am I? Where would I like to be? (in relation to these)
–Being busy and overwhelmed
–Self-esteem
–Worry
–Putting the needs of others first
–Anger
–Fear
–Inner Peace and fulfillment

Bali Yoga Retreat Cultural Adventures

The cultural excursions on my Bali Yoga Retreat set it apart from every other retreat. We include more because the yoga of travel is one of my favorite types of yoga off the mat. You’ll learn why I am in love with this part of the world and its people.

Learn more about what you’ll experience!

Ubud Tour and Monkey Forest

This combination trip begins in Ubud and includes Monkey Forest where you can feed the monkeys, then we’ll walk to a traditional local market and have lunch at the famous Clear Cafe.

Clear Cafe’s (http://www.clear-cafe-ubud.com) philosophy is “eat the food you wish to be”. In the spirit of this idea we have created a must see sanctuary where everyone can enjoy organic, delicious, pure and natural food while experiencing the magical and nurturing ways of Clear’s pure Balinese team.

“Sit with friends, laugh, eat, drink and watch Bali time stand still.” – Michael Franti

Come on in, choose your favorite table/sofa and hang out as long as you like. At Clear we are quite known for our music so please enjoy the tunes. We have over 6000 hand-picked songs (on rotation) that you will love! Our music is a little bit of all your favorites.

-FOOD- we use all natural ingredients from local Balinese farmers. At clear we believe that energy can be transferred through food, so it’s very important to us how our chef’s and kitchen staff are feeling. That is why we pride ourselves on laughing, playing, and having a good time while preparing your food, so that it may be charged with life. Hee hee, it’s true. Why should healthy food be boring? At clear we promise it’s not so. Clear drinks/foods are so diverse that you may never get bored. At least we hope not. hee..hee..

Bedugul Mountain Tour

Experience the local handiwork, fresh fruits, botanical garden and sights of Pacung, Bedugul and Lake Bratan. A highlight of this trip is a visit to Ulun Danu Temple, one of the most picturesque and most photographed temples in Bali. The temple was built in 1633 by the King of Mengwi and dedicated to the lake goddess Dewi Danu.

Rice Terrace Tour & Lunch at Sari Organi

Sari Organik specializes in growing organic vegetables and rice and making other products that can be processed from local produce. Sari Organik bases its practices on fair trade standards and tries to enrich the environment and the life of farmers and their families.

‘Sari Organik’ is Indonesian and means ‘Essence of Natural’.

“We at Sari Organik started to grow organic produce 12 years ago. We started experimenting with vegetables, fruit, rice and animals, trying to find a balanced system that will sustain it self and the environment with minimal input from other outside sources. Our aim is to build a model farm, a small family business that will grow organically with the market demands and benefit all. We are building a model farm that serves as an educational center and hope to see other farmers join our efforts to bring on “Green Bali”. See menu http://www.sari-organik.com/restaurant-in-ubud-bali/organic.html

Sanur Beach Club & Day Spa

The island of Bali is surrounded by coral reefs. Beaches in the south where we’ll be at Sanur have white sand and the ones on the East have black sand. There is good reason why Bali wins “The Island of The Year Award” almost every year. For instance, Bali received the Best Island award from Travel and Leisure in 2010. And according to BBC Travel released in 2011, Bali is one of the World’s Best Islands, ranked second after Greece. (Source: Wikipedia). This trip is a not to miss opportunity to enjoy a day spa and beach club along with riding a bike along the boardwalk if you want. Or kite surf, wind surf or just play in the water in between spa appointments.

Visit Kopi Luwak Coffee plantation for tasting and tour

“Kopi Luwak coffee comes from the Indonesian island of Sumatra, an area well-known for its excellent coffee. Also native to the area is a small civit-like animal called a Paradoxurus. That’s the scientific name, the locals call them luwaks. These little mammals live in the trees and one of their favorite foods is the red, ripe coffee cherry. They eat the cherries, bean and all. While the bean is in the little guy’s stomach, it undergoes chemical treatments and fermentations. The bean finishes its journey through the digestive system, and exits. The still-intact beans are collected from the forest floor, and are cleaned, then roasted and ground just like any other coffee.

The resulting coffee is said to be like no other. It has a rich, heavy flavour with hints of caramel or chocolate. Other terms used to describe it are earthy, musty and exotic. The body is almost syrupy and it’s very smooth.”  – http://coffeetea.about.com/cs/kindsofcoffee/a/aakopiluwak.htm

In the U.S. it will go for $300 per pound. Your tasting is included as part of your retreat. And it’s up to you to purchase some to take home, we always do! And it’s a whole lot less expensive in Bali.

Balinese Cultural Dinner & Dancing

We will enjoy a tour of an ancestral home, learn why it is organized as such and what the meaning is behind everything. You will learn how to make traditional Balinese offerings. And we’ll enjoy an incredibly generous dinner buffet with dance performance. See details and more photos on line.

Komune Keramus Beach Club Sunset Aperitivo Black Sand Beach & Pool Party!

Komune Keramas Beach Club is designed as your all day place to hang, re-charge and charge. Kick back & listen to tunes, scope the net, check the waves and mix good times with good people. Komune Beach Club is located at Keramas in-front of one of the world’s best high-performance right hand reef breaks which makes for spectacular viewing day & night.

Jon Huberman from Surfline, wrote this article on Keramas Surf Break…

“Once an ultra-secret hideaway of tightlipped Sanur expats, in the past few years, no other spot has received more media attention than Keramas. Whether it’s Andy Irons dropping in out of a Helicopter, or any of dozens of international professional surfers adding a section to the latest surf movie, Keramas is no secret anymore. The good news is that Keramas does live up to its’ hype. It’s an excellent reef break in a classic black sand beach and rice field setting, and.. In a land of perfect lefts, it’s one of a few perfect rights.

Keramas is a fun right-hander for hot dog surfing when it is smaller. In the past few years, surfers have been pushing the limits of what is considered too big to surf at Keramas. Even on the biggest days of the year, some local and international chargers have been paddling out there, returning with stories, film, and photos of glory.”

CINEMA

Komune’s Keramas Beach Club includes a beachfront outdoor cinema set amongst the coconut trees of keramas with a views over the ocean, the restaurant and bar. Komune live streams weekly webcasts of the latest surfing and sporting events when avaliable.  The highlights from the days or weeks surfing are blasted on the big screen for all too see as well as regular screeningof latest release movies for your viewing pleasure.

Where is Bali?

WHERE IS BALI?

Bali is an island and the smallest province of Indonesia, and includes a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida. It is located at the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, between Java to the west and Lombok to the east, and has its capital of Denpasar at the southern part of the island.

Bali is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music.

The island of Bali lies 3.2 km (2 mi) east of Java, and is approximately 8 degrees south of the equator. Bali and Java are separated by the Bali Strait. East to west, the island is approximately 153 km (95 mi) wide and spans approximately 112 km (69 mi) north to south.

Bali’s central mountains include several peaks over 3,000 metres in elevation. The highest is Mount Agung (3,031 m), known as the “mother mountain” which is an active volcano. Mountains range from centre to the eastern side, with Mount Agung the easternmost peak. Bali’s volcanic nature has contributed to its exceptional fertility and its tall mountain ranges provide the high rainfall that supports the highly productive agriculture sector. South of the mountains is a broad, steadily descending area where most of Bali’s large rice crop is grown. The northern side of the mountains slopes more steeply to the sea and is the main coffee producing area of the island, along with rice, vegetables and cattle.

The island is surrounded by coral reefs. Beaches in the south tend to have white sand while those in the north and west have black sand. Bali received the Best Island award from Travel and Leisure in 2010.[36] The island of Bali won because of its attractive surroundings (both mountain and coastal areas), diverse tourist attractions, excellent international and local restaurants, and the friendliness of the local people. According to BBC Travel released in 2011, Bali is one of the World’s Best Islands, rank in second after Greece.(Source: Wikipedia)
