Alchemy of Fire: The Solar Plexus

Alchemy of Fire: The Solar Plexus by Silvia Mordini

The Fire Element known as Agni represents the energy of transformation or change. It has three forms: fire, the sun, and lightening. This is the element associated with the third chakra, our solar plexus.
The Solar Plexus

The Sanskrit name of the solar plexus chakra, Manipura, translates to “lustrous gem.” Located between belly button and the bottom of the rib cage, it governs our intentions for emancipation, our right to act, our duty for self-definition, and our ego.

Alchemy of Truth: The Throat Chakra

Alchemy of Truth: The Throat Chakra by Silvia Mordini

What you say defines who you are. The words you use to express yourself become your message to the world about the life you are manifesting. This is the work of the fifth chakra—our communication chakra, or Vishuddha.

Today, dedicate yourself to your most truthful intentions. This clears the way for you to ask the right questions as you design your personal vision.

On the mat, our poses serve to refine our abilities to listen intently and speak honestly with ourselves. Once we are able to internally express what we want to manifest, we can share this outwardly with our friends and family.

As part of cleansing and balancing the brow chakra or Ajna, our sixth chakra, I want you to focus on your “weaknesses.” See for yourself that the soft spots are exactly where you have the greatest learning potential.

Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, “We live in succession, in division, in parts, in particles.

Alchemy of Happiness: The Crown Chakra

Alchemy of Happiness: The Crown Chakra by Silvia Mordini

The seventh chakra, also known as Sahasrara or the crown chakra, is often depicted as a thousand-petal lotus flower in full bloom at the crown of your head.

This lotus flower’s roots connect to the Earth and its petals flow out from the crown and back down through the chakras as a stream of Divine wisdom and awareness. Opening the crown chakra is not just a matter of lifting our energy UP, but of moving it DOWN for manifestation to occur as well.

In this way, the chakras condense the cosmic energy of universal consciousness, condensing it into the seven levels of manifestation: thought, light, sound, air, fire, water, and earth.

Sahasrara is about understanding our true nature and connecting it with a higher level of consciousness.
