Alchemy of Fire: The Solar Plexus

Alchemy of Fire: The Solar Plexus by Silvia Mordini

The Fire Element known as Agni represents the energy of transformation or change. It has three forms: fire, the sun, and lightening. This is the element associated with the third chakra, our solar plexus.
The Solar Plexus

The Sanskrit name of the solar plexus chakra, Manipura, translates to “lustrous gem.” Located between belly button and the bottom of the rib cage, it governs our intentions for emancipation, our right to act, our duty for self-definition, and our ego.

El Temazcal at Haramara Retreat

Haramara is now hosting a Traditional Sweatlodge Ceremony every Thursday evening. “El Temazcal”

This ancient medicine involves deep purification, through the respectful use of the sacred elements Earth, Water, Air and Fire, in a journey where we travel into Mother Earth´s womb in a dark, wet and warm environment.  After crossing the stages of the ceremony, we are reborn, to continue our path on this Earth with renewed life.

Stones are heated in Fire, Water is poured on the stones to create steam that will penetrate us at all levels to help us cleanse what we no longer need and to remind us of who we are.  In the Sweatlodge we share prayers and songs to reconnect us to Great Spirit. We become a family in the sacred circle, where we are all equal.

All guests are welcome to participate after they have understood the protocol that this traditional medicine involves.

*Join us on retreat July 12-19, 2014 at Harmara and experience this healing for yourself!

Reignite Your Passion

Practicing yoga helps us remember to celebrate life. During class we burn off, sweat off, twist off the spiritual amnesia (forgetting what fires you up!) In a nutshell it reminds us about what we love about our lives: Dancing, hiking, playing piano, running, cycling, painting, traveling. Forgetting what you love to do is a form of self-sabotage. For instance, if you forget about your dreams, then you never have to risk failure. However, just because you’ve decided to ignore your passions doesn’t mean they no longer exist. Besides life is too short to stop doing what you love.

So today invoke the Fire Element, known in sanskrit is AGNI.

passionpurposeFire is the energy of transformation or change. If you think about the power (Shakti) of fire it can take metal and change it into any shape. Fire is also symbolic of rebirth. It cleanses, burns off the negative and energizes one to light the path forward. Then we move confidently in the direction of what we love with great PASSION.

It is visible to everyone. You can see it. In the words of Philosopher Hebbel, “Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.” And no one else can tell you what fires you up, only you can decide “how to set your life on fire” -Rumi.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
~ Harold Whitman

Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it and hold true to your biggest dreams! Love yourself, love your day, love your life! Silvia @inspiredyogagal
