The Importance of Sisterhood: 7 Tips on Nurturing Your Sisters, by Silvia Mordini

the-importance-of-sisterhood-7-tips-on-nurturing-your-sisters

The truth is, I work a lot. I travel to fulfill my dharma to teach peace and inspire happiness. I’m in different time zones, and often lack reliable WiFi or have low bandwidth. I can’t afford an international cell phone plan, just cheap sim cards for local calls.

Even when I’m not off-grid, I meditate a lot by myself so I’m still off-grid (in a sense, living in another realm.) I’m also an introvert hiding in plain site as an extrovert, which requires time alone to recharge. I get so involved in my role of healer-teacher that I forget to leave time to stay more connected.

What has changed for me, as I get wiser, is how important sisterhood is now more than ever.

Geography

Bali lies 3.2 km (2 mi) east of Java, and is approximately 8 degrees south of the equator. The Bali Strait separates Bali and Java.

The island’s central mountains include several peaks over 3,000 meters in elevation. The highest is Mount Agung, standing at 10,328 ft. (3,148 m) An active volcano known as the “Mother Mountain,” it last erupted in 1963, and lava flows devastated numerous villages, killing 1,500 people.

Bali’s volcanic nature has contributed to its exceptional fertility and its tall mountain ranges provide the high rainfall that supports the highly productive agriculture sector. South of the mountains is a broad, steadily descending area where most of Bali’s large rice crop is grown.

The northern side of the mountains slopes more steeply to the sea and is the main coffee producing area of the island, along with rice, vegetables and cattle.

Dozens of (very small) rivers drain the island. The longest river, the Ayung, flows approximately 75 km.

The island is surrounded by coral reefs. Beaches in the south tend to have white sand while those in the north and west have black sand.

GENERAL INTEREST:

  • Calling Code: 62, then 361
  • Electricity: 127/230V, 50Hz

Weather

Bali experiences pleasant (low humidity) conditions with average daily temperatures between 70 and 93 degrees (21 – 33°C) year-round. The island’s rainy season is December through March, with most of the showers occurring in the evening.

Bali Vinyasa Yoga for Green Tara by Silvia Mordini

Compassion in Action: Green Tara is usually depicted as a compassionate being (Mother Buddha) ready to step down from her lotus throne to offer comfort and protection from all of the sufferings we experience in the world.

This was filmed with the mantra om tare tuttare sure swaha in mind.

Mantra Meaning: From your heart of compassion, please help me to let go and release all blockages so I may have peace, clarity and happiness.

In the teachings of the Dalai Lama he reminds us “that when we chant the Green Tara mantra, we are not simply asking for Tara’s blessings and help with our lives and our “real world” problems. Actually, we are also asking to be liberated from the misery of the mental delusions and negative emotions that blind us to true freedom, and to achieve the same enlightened body, speech and mind that Tara represents, not only for our own benefit, but for the benefit of all sentient beings.”

For me being near the water always promotes the feminine, lunar energy of nurturance. I need that in my life and I know you do too. Jim’s sound vibration makes this mantra even more powerful. I appreciate how he adds in English lyrics as well, “the secret of feeling alive is to love.”

All of the quotes within the video are from Rumi whose writings to me exemplify universal LOVE.

How to Live Your Dreams

“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.” -Roald Dahl

Guess which one of us is the music maker or dreamer? Is it possible we could be both?
Love yourself enough to live from possibility.

What you may not know is I studied music for 13 years and Jim is an incredible writer besides what you may know already.

Individually we have both intentionally chosen to live our dream. We both left the corporate world to follow our bliss. We’ve moved to another part of the country, we’ve actively pursued a life we love.
We can tell you how we did it. We can support you in making the changes you want for your best life. Come live in possibility and you’ll transform the way you see yourself.
