Artistic Bali is a melting pot of cultures and traditions. The Balinese have an inborn talent of absorbing different cultural elements, blending them with their own, to produce dynamic new artistic hybrids. Across the years, Bali has soaked up Chinese, Buddhist, Indian, Hindu, Javanese and Western influences.
The Balinese were, traditionally, animists. Even when Hinduism arrived in Bali, its practices were adapted to go hand in hand with local traditions, thus making Hinduism in Bali very much different from its original form in India. Even the Hindu Mahabarata and Ramayana epics take on Balinese nuances and beliefs when played out in the wayang.
Other aspects of Balinese life follow suit. Take for instance, its performing arts. Bali’s dance, music and Wayang theatres still retain rich religious connotations, after having been enriched by contemporary artistry, and are still performed to appease and please the gods. This is illustrated in the trance dance of the Barong, or the intense Kecak dance; which retains very Balinese elements but includes a rhythm set by Western influences.

Thousands of islands with different cultures make up Indonesia, so no wonder its food is just as diverse. To complement the holiday experience on Bali, you would not want to miss out on its assortment of dishes.
These include interesting and exotic selections such as ‘lawar’, ‘bebek betutu’, the Balinese satay version known as ‘sate lilit’, and the island’s famed ‘babi guling’ whole spit-roast pig. The Balinese have a rich collection of snacks, cakes and desserts for your sweet tooth too!

Compassion in Action: Green Tara is usually depicted as a compassionate being (Mother Buddha) ready to step down from her lotus throne to offer comfort and protection from all of the sufferings we experience in the world.
This was filmed with the mantra om tare tuttare sure swaha in mind.
Mantra Meaning: From your heart of compassion, please help me to let go and release all blockages so I may have peace, clarity and happiness.
In the teachings of the Dalai Lama he reminds us “that when we chant the Green Tara mantra, we are not simply asking for Tara’s blessings and help with our lives and our “real world” problems. Actually, we are also asking to be liberated from the misery of the mental delusions and negative emotions that blind us to true freedom, and to achieve the same enlightened body, speech and mind that Tara represents, not only for our own benefit, but for the benefit of all sentient beings.”
For me being near the water always promotes the feminine, lunar energy of nurturance. I need that in my life and I know you do too. Jim’s sound vibration makes this mantra even more powerful. I appreciate how he adds in English lyrics as well, “the secret of feeling alive is to love.”
All of the quotes within the video are from Rumi whose writings to me exemplify universal LOVE.

“We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams.” -Roald Dahl
Guess which one of us is the music maker or dreamer? Is it possible we could be both?
Love yourself enough to live from possibility.
What you may not know is I studied music for 13 years and Jim is an incredible writer besides what you may know already.
Individually we have both intentionally chosen to live our dream. We both left the corporate world to follow our bliss. We’ve moved to another part of the country, we’ve actively pursued a life we love.
We can tell you how we did it. We can support you in making the changes you want for your best life. Come live in possibility and you’ll transform the way you see yourself.

Mantra: I believe anything is possible!
will someday split you open
even if your life is now a cage,
For a divine seed, the crown of destiny,
is hidden and sown on an ancient, fertile plain
that you hold the title to.
Love will surely bust you wide open
into an unfettered, blooming new galaxy
A life-giving radiance will come,
O look again within yourself,
For I know you were once the elegant host
To all the marvels in creation.
Behold the Beautiful One
from the vantage point of Love.
He is conducting the affairs
of the whole universe
in a tree house – on a limb
in your heart.”
The light in Bali is a healer unto itself. It is unlike other light. It does open you wide as it whispers love into the air around you.
One only needs to sit amongst the trees and absorb their medicine, along with the symphony of healing botanicals all around you.
Looking out at the coconut palm trees you can feel the universe being conducted – through your human experience of love “in a tree house – on a limb in your heart.” – Blessed be, Silvia

“Dukha, the bad stuff, happens to everyone. We must stop feeding our stress phobia thinking we are trying to eradicate the bad stuff. The real obstacle to spiritual practice is thinking that to be happy we must be stress-free. Obstacles are not the problem. Life is full of setbacks, traffic jams, heart breaks and road blocks. It is our reaction and hostaging of energy that is the real block to our happiness. Learning how to stress successfully is the answer to staying zen.”
Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha
