This retreat is for wordsmithery oriented open hearted adventurous spirits of all ages, walks of life, from beginner to advanced. Please come prepared with an open mind, heart and sense of humor. The tone of the week will be safe and relaxing and participation in any activity always optional. This retreat is all about having fun and restoring your body and mind as well as a journey of self-discovery into our stories and secrets waiting to be shared in an authentic way. What is the Yoga like?
Core Strength Vinyasa Flow
I prefer to call Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga a “perspective” on all yoga, rather than just its own style. I created it after years of training and study where I was seeing a lack of either understanding or focus on the core of our yoga poses on all levels: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic.
Along the way, I was fortunate to meet one of my formative teachers, Leslie Kaminoff of The Breathing Project in NYC, and author of the bestselling Yoga Anatomy. Under his expertise in yoga, philosophy, anatomy and pranayama, I continue to evolve my understanding of the multi-faceted core.
Out of my journey into deep Center came my Core Principles, ways to clarify what the core is, exactly how to instruct it and activate the core within the yoga practice. To help students experience their Center, I created my Core Poses, specific movements, postures and sequences that bring the student into more core-generated alignment, improving safety and stability while causing a more efficient total body/mind transformation.
Rebel Spirit Vinyasa Flow
Yoga works to inspire a REBEL SPIRIT in all of us. It reduces our resistance to fear because through this practice the self-abuse of perfectionism diminishes. Rebel Spirit Vinyasa Flow encourages you to feel more than think, learn more than compare, enjoy more than judge. Ift is a practice over-analysis or procrastination.
If we defiantly let our heart consciousness take an active role, then we shift our paradigm into one where there is no failure, only trust that we can’t really fail at anything. If you go up to bat and miss the ball, it’s not a big deal. You produce a result; so you act upon that result and stay stoked to try your poses again.
This practice invokes the badass energy of Durga, Invincibility, to stand up for our life! We will inhabit the poses with fierce kindness and peaceful determination and strut away inspired to be ourselves. Join me for some playful, radical fun flow to stoke your rebel spirit!
