What to Pack for a Hawaii Yoga Retreat

Here is a list of suggested items to bring with you on a Hawaii Yoga Retreat so you are best prepared for the trip.

HELPFUL ARRIVAL SUGGESTION:
After landing at the Airport please take a moment to change to shorts or lighter pants, light shirt and sandals and have your sunglasses handy. You’ll feel the Hawaiian warmth (especially for most of us coming from cold climates) right away. Or even better wear layers on the plane and start removing them before landing.

STUFF TO BRING:
Camera (waterproof camera for snorkeling)
Sunglasses (even a spare wouldn’t hurt)
Hat!
Sunblock
Toiletries if they are biodegradable.
An extra pair of contacts if you wear them, sunglasses and sunscreen. For hiking, be sure to have a lightweight backpack to carry your personal belongings
Chargers for phone, camera
Shoes you can hike around in (closed athletic shoe) No need to bring your heavy hikers.
A small backpack or bag you can bring your magazines and sun block and such to the beach or hiking.
Headlamp or flashlight
Yoga clothes (but no need to overdo it, people don’t mind if they see you in the same outfit more than once.)
Casual Dinner attire Sundresses, skirts, nice shorts. Remember this is your vacation if you feel best super casual please be yourself. No need to impress.

EXTRA STUFF TO BRING: IF YOU ARE GOING ON ADDITIONAL EXCURSIONS PLANNED LIKE WAI OPAE TIDE POOLS SNORKELING AND LAVA POOLS AT MACKENZIE PARK
1. For snorkeling or surfing please bring rash guard shirts, board shorts or something you’ll feel comfortable moving in.
2. If you are taking an extra boat excursion then you will be in the sun for hours so bring long sleeve protection.
3. For Lava Pools please be sure to bring closed shoes (same goes for Volcanoes National Park, they won’t let you in with just flip flops)
