I love traveling because of the feeling of wonder you cultivate, experiencing places in the world with so much history. I owe my parents a huge debt of gratitude for inspiring a love of travel and curiosity in both me and my brother. And interestingly the pace of curiosity is much like yoga, it’s mindful.
Curiosity doesn’t race around missing everything big and small. To be curious means we are fully present to the subtle energies as well as the impressive works of art in nature or by man. It hones the art of “being”.
During yoga class we get to try out the art of being. We sit in wonder of it all in the moment and practice breathing and feeling. There is a quiet curiosity that arises from our time on the mat that is then transportable out into the world. We feel part of the mystery it means to be alive, curious to our own humanity.
“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and science. Whosoever does not know it and can no longer wonder, no longer marvel, is as good as dead, and his eyes dimmed.” Albert Einstein
So today practice being even a little bit more curious. Live in wonder of your own life! And don’t forget when you love your life and remain curious, your life will love you back! Silvia
