ABOUT THE YOGA STUDIOS

Ak’bol has two yoga studios/wellness centers:
1. The octagon yoga palapa called “Mandalily”, is a beautiful umbrella-thatched palapa located just off the beach, privately and peacefully sheltered amongst a cluster of sea grape trees, huge agave, coconut trees within a natural spider lily garden… this is a cozy space for discussion groups, smaller yoga & wellness groups, privates, meditation, breathing, kirtan, weddings and sacred ceremonies… this studio has a soothing vibe…

2. The large yoga palapa, “Satsang”(1400 sq ft) is a grand palapa, lined with orchids, dramatically situated at the end of our 300 foot pier. A special place surrounded by the clear blue sea for larger groups and any type of event… engage in Self. This studio feels sacred!

ABOUT LODGING:

Accommodation Options:
The Yoga Suites are located down a garden path from the main pool area. The earth toned, Mayan ruin-inspired three-story structure is positioned on the lagoon looking out to the backside of the island. Twin and queen rooms are available all boasting hand crafted wooden floors, a wooden bed stage, storage, a locked area for valuables and a sitting area and table; a cozy private area for the end of day.

The Yoga Suites have shared bathroom facilities like those found in the Cabanas: wooden sinks carved by local Rastas, faucets made from conch shells and the rain style showers covered with bamboo. Everyone has a private and locked storage area in the bathroom for their toiletries and plenty of changing space. The shared bath facilities and the Yoga Suites allow for a cost efficient and comfortable way to experience all that Belize has to offer while relaxing with your friends and neighbors island style.

There are seven private Maya-inspired cabanas. Four ocean view and three garden view cabanas are textured throughout with woven thatched ceilings, soothing river rock flooring and mosaic counter-tops. In the traditional “old school” style, windows are plantation shuttered and accordion front doors open to the sea leading out to your private bush-stick front porch. The queen beds feature warrior wood headboards with mosquito netting and storage underneath with a loft that can accommodate an additional guest upon request. Carved mahogany sinks with conch shell faucets keep you in the island mood along with the private bamboo outdoor shower.
